Opmerkingen

Guernsey issued this note in 2023 following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, making it one of the first British Crown Dependency issues to carry her portrait posthumously rather than transitioning immediately to Charles III. The decision to continue with a posthumous Elizabeth II series rather than rush a new monarch into circulation was a practical one — redesigning and reissuing an entire banknote series takes years, and Guernsey's note circulation volumes are too small to justify accelerated production costs.

The vertical hologram strip — rather than the horizontal placement more common in earlier De La Rue security designs — reflects a shift in the company's Optiks security foil application that became more prevalent in their post-2018 work for smaller issuing authorities.
