| 备注 |
The Faraday £20 was the first Bank of England note to carry a scientist rather than a statesman or monarch on the reverse — a deliberate shift in commemorative policy that attracted considerable public commentary at the time. Engraved by Roger Withington at Debden, the intaglio work on this series is among the finer examples of late twentieth-century English banknote engraving before the transition toward lithographic dominance.
Two chief cashiers signed across the issue window: G. M. Gill and G. E. A. Kentfield. Gill's signature variant is the scarcer of the two.
