Descrizione del dritto	A right-facing intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing tiara and regalia occupies the right portion of the note against a warm ochre and peach guilloche underprint. The left and centre are dominated by a vignette of Jamestown harbour framed by intricate lathe-work, with sailing vessels in the foreground. The denomination £20 appears in bold at upper right and within an oval guilloche cartouche at lower left, flanked by the two Currency Commissioners' manuscript signatures below the central inscription.

Descrizione del rovescio	The arms of the East India Company rendered in full colour at left, with two lion supporters flanking a quartered shield surmounted by a demi-lion crest and two flags, above a scroll bearing the motto; the colonial seal of Saint Helena enclosing a sailing ship vignette appears at centre. A large intaglio numeral '20' in fine guilloche line-work dominates the right portion, with the year date below. The denomination £20 is repeated at lower left within a lathe-work panel.
