Jersey's P#14 series ran across twelve years under two signatories — J. Clennett and Leslie May served consecutively as States Treasurer, and notes signed by each circulate in roughly comparable numbers. The series predates Jersey's adoption of more sophisticated security features; the single watermark is the only mechanical authentication device on the note, which by the mid-1980s was already considered minimal for a high denomination.
Thomas De La Rue's involvement was standard for British Crown Dependencies throughout this period — Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man all contracted the same London printer, creating a family resemblance in paper stock and print quality across otherwise distinct issues.
