Reverse description The reverse is printed in red tones and presents a detailed naval battle vignette at centre-left, showing the British squadron under sail in Gibraltar Bay on 12 July 1801. A portrait of Admiral Lord de Saumarez in full naval dress uniform occupies the right portion of the note, framed by a cartouche inscribed with his name and dates. The denomination £20 appears in large stylised numerals at lower left, with 'TWENTY POUNDS' at lower right.
