正面描述	The obverse is printed in black and orange on a light ground, with a central vignette of two horses in a pastoral landscape with industrial buildings in the background, executed in fine intaglio engraving. To the upper left, the bank title BANQUE D'HOCHELAGA is inscribed in bold letterpress, while the denomination numeral 20 appears at lower left and in an orange guilloche panel at upper right. A portrait vignette of a bearded gentleman in military dress occupies the right side, with a handwritten-style promise-to-pay text reading Payera au Porteur à demande Vingt Piastres, Montréal, 1er Juin 1889 in the centre field, above printed signature lines for the President and Caissier.
