| Obverse description | The obverse is framed by a bold yellow and black double border. At upper centre, the issuer inscription 'MARKT BERCHTESGADEN' is set in large Gothic blackletter. To the left, the multicolour heraldic arms of Berchtesgaden — quartered with crossed keys, fleur-de-lis, and the Bavarian lozenge shield — are rendered in a woodcut-style vignette. To the right, the denomination text 'Gutschein über Zwanzig Pfennig' appears in an elaborate Fraktur script, beneath which the date 'Berchtesgaden, 13. August 1920' and the facsimile signature of the acting First Mayor are printed. |
