| Opis awersu | The German Imperial eagle is depicted facing left with wings spread wide, rendered in high relief with finely detailed feathering throughout. The eagle bears upon its breast a large quartered heraldic shield charged with the Hohenzollern arms, flanked by elaborate scrollwork and foliate mantling at the base. An Imperial crown surmounts the eagle's head, and the outstretched wings terminate in boldly executed primary feathers. The entire design is set within a plain field bordered by a continuous inner beaded circle. The mint mark letter appears in the lower field, divided by the eagle's tail feathers, flanked on either side. |
