| 正面描述 | Printed in violet-grey on cream paper, the obverse carries a central vignette of two figures in period dress — a merchant and a craftsman — exchanging a handshake before the Linz city coat of arms, flanked on either side by oak branches with acorns. The denomination numeral '20' appears in large outlined figures at the upper corners, with the issuer title 'Gutschein Mittelstands-Vereinigung' in Gothic script across the top. The issuance date 'Linz, 21. April 1920' and validity notice 'Nur gültig bis 30. Sept. 1920' are inscribed at the lower portion, with two manuscript signature lines designated 'Der Kassier' and 'Der Obmann'. |

| 背面描述 | The reverse is printed in soft violet-green on cream paper, with the denomination '20 Heller' in large bold Gothic numerals at the left margin. The central field is enclosed within a decorative border of oak leaves and acorns tied with a ribbon at the base, inside which a four-line verse in Fraktur script is set, attributed in parentheses to the German poet Emanuel Geibel. To the right of the denomination, a vertical text block in Gothic script sets out the redemption conditions, noting acceptance in all establishments of the issuing cooperative until 30 September 1920, with a manuscript signature line for 'Der Schriftführer'. |

| 备注 |
Austrian Notgeld of this type emerged from a specific gap left by the postwar coinage collapse — small denomination coins had effectively vanished from circulation by 1920, hoarded or melted, leaving retailers and cooperatives unable to make change. The Mittelstands-Wirtschafts-Genossenschaft was a middle-class trading cooperative, and its decision to issue emergency scrip was a practical business solution, not a banking exercise.
The r.G.m.b.H. designation — registered cooperative with limited liability — matters here. These notes carried obligation only within the issuing body's network, redeemable against purchases rather than at a bank window.
