Obverse description The face is dominated by a horizontal eye-shaped cartouche formed by two curved blue bands, enclosing a central vignette of three stylised birds perched on flowering branches with green foliage against a yellow ground, rendered in yellow and red. Denomination numerals '20' in red letterpress appear at the left and right margins, each paired with 'PFG', while a Low German folk verse in red curves along the interior of the cartouche. The issuer's name 'NOTGELD DER GEMEINDE BOKEL' runs in large blue capitals across the top of the note, with 'AMTSBEZIRK HÖRNERKIRCHEN' along the lower margin.

Reverse description The back is printed on a plain white ground, with the large denomination numeral '20' in red at upper centre, followed by 'PF.' beneath it. Two arched lines of blue text carry the expiry notice. At lower left, the designation 'DER AMTSAUSSCHUSS: I.A.' is set above a red manuscript signature, while 'DER AMTSVORSTEHER:' at lower right is similarly followed by a second red manuscript signature; a red serial number is centred between the two signature blocks. The printer's imprint 'KONRAD HANF HAMBURG 8' appears in small type at the foot.
