The Yellow Perch is an odd choice for a Cuban coin; the species is native to North America east of the Rockies and has no particular ecological connection to the island.

Low secondary-market liquidity suggests these were largely absorbed by thematic fish and wildlife collectors rather than Cuban numismatists.
