Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided into three sections displaying a royal palm tree, a golden key between two headlands, and blue and white horizontal stripes, supported by an oak branch on the left and a laurel branch on the right, with a Phrygian cap and rays above. The serial number 259 appears to the upper left of the shield, with the mint assay mark to its right. The denomination 20 PESOS is inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by the weight specification 40 G to the lower left and the silver fineness AG 0.999 to the lower right. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery in bold raised Latin lettering.
