Reverse description A vividly coloured effigy of a male Wood Duck (Aix sponsa), known in Cuba as Pato Huyuyo, is depicted in left-facing profile, standing on a natural ground of brown earth and green foliage with a light blue water background rendered in polychrome enamel. The bird's distinctive plumage is faithfully reproduced, showing the iridescent green and white crested head, red eye and bill, chestnut breast with white spotting, blue and teal wing coverts, and yellow-buff flanks. The legend FAUNA DEL CARIBE arcs along the upper rim, with PATO HUYUYO inscribed on a second line below it, both in raised Latin lettering. A small mint mark and the date 1996 appear to the right of the bird in the field.
