| 背面描述 | The reverse is printed entirely in blue on a light pink ground, with a large central oval cartouche enclosing the bold numeral '20' superimposed over the word 'PESOS' in wide display lettering, set against a fine guilloche crosshatch background. The issuer name 'FOMENTO TERRITORIAL' arcs across the upper band of the oval and 'MONTEVIDEO' curves along the lower band, while two circular rosette medallions flank the cartouche at left and right. A delicate geometric lathe-work border frames the entire composition. |

| 备注 |
The Sociedad de Fomento Territorial was a Uruguayan mortgage lending institution, and its circulating notes occupied a peculiar legal space — technically private paper, but widely accepted in commerce during a period when the Banco de la República did not yet exist and no single authority controlled currency issuance. Uruguay's monetary environment in the 1860s was genuinely fragmented, with multiple private and quasi-official entities emitting paper that competed for public confidence.
Litografía A. Hequet y Cohas was a Montevideo press, making this a domestically produced note at a time when most South American issuers of any ambition sent their work to London or Paris. The watermarked paper suggests an imported sheet stock, almost certainly sourced from a European mill.
