| 正面描述 | Central vignette of the Altar de la Patria (Altar of the Fatherland), a neoclassical mausoleum rendered in intaglio, with a statue of a founding father visible within its colonnade. To the left, a commemorative inscription in Spanish reads '1492-1992 / V Centenario del Descubrimiento y Evangelización de América', marking the quincentennial of Columbus's first landfall. Guilloche underprint in olive-brown tones frames the composition, with denomination numerals '20' at the corners and two facsimile signatures of bank officials at the lower centre. |

| 备注 |
The Quincentennial of Columbus's 1492 landfall prompted a wave of commemorative currency across the Caribbean, but the Dominican Republic had particular reason to mark the occasion — the island of Hispaniola was the site of the first permanent European settlement in the Americas, and Santo Domingo itself was founded in 1496 by Bartolomé Columbus. This note was issued into that specific claim.
BA International, the successor identity of the long-running British American Bank Note Company, printed the series out of its Canadian facilities. The company would survive only two more decades before closing in 2012 following contract losses to competitors.
