Reverse description Central intaglio vignette of the Puerta del Conde, the historic stone gateway in Santo Domingo where Dominican independence was proclaimed in 1844, set within a landscaped plaza with trees to the left. The engraving is executed in fine line work against a guilloche underprint in brown and olive tones, with denomination numerals '20' at each corner. The inscription 'PUERTA DEL CONDE' appears below the vignette, and 'SERIE 1992' is printed at the top centre.
