Reverse description The copper-nickel centre features a three-quarter facing bust portrait of the Mexican poet and Nobel laureate Octavio Paz, shown with his hands clasped beneath his chin in a contemplative pose, wearing a suit and open-collared shirt. To the right of the portrait, within the centre field, the inscription PREMIO NOBEL DE LITERATURA 1990 appears in tiered lettering. The brass outer ring bears the denomination $20 at the top, flanked by the name OCTAVIO PAZ, the date 2010 to the lower left, and the mint mark oM to the lower right; the quotation "Todo es presencia, todos los siglos son este presente" arches along the lower periphery, with VEINTE PESOS completing the denomination legend at the base.
