| Opmerkingen |
Banco Oxandaburu y Garbino was a private Argentine bank operating out of Corrientes province, and this 20 Pesos Fuertes note was printed during a period when provincial banking in Argentina was largely unregulated — any merchant house with sufficient capital could commission notes from a reputable printer and begin issuing. The American Bank Note Company in New York was the prestige choice for South American issuers at this time, lending an air of institutional credibility that the banks themselves often lacked.
Corrientes provincial notes from this era were frequently refused at par outside the issuing province.
