| Opis awersu |
The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a key between two rocky promontories above a rising sun, a royal palm at centre, and diagonal blue and white stripes at the base, supported by crossed fasces and two national flags bearing a lone star, with a Phrygian cap at the apex. The peripheral legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs across the upper portion, while the denomination 20 PESOS is inscribed along the lower arc. Flanking inscriptions in the left and right fields read 26 G. and AR. 0.925 LATON respectively, indicating the intended specifications of this pattern. Two six-pointed stars serve as dividers within the legend. A fine dentilated border frames the entire design. |

| Opis rewersu |
The reverse features a bold truncated bust of Antonio Maceo Grajales, the celebrated Cuban independence general, facing slightly to the right, depicted in military uniform adorned with epaulettes and stars on the chest. The legend ANTONIO MACEO curves along the upper periphery, flanked by small five-pointed stars. The date 1977, accompanied by three small stars, appears to the left of the bust within the field. The lower arc carries the inscription PROTESTA DE BARAGUA, commemorating Maceo's historic 1878 rejection of the Zanjón Pact. A dentilated border surrounds the entire composition. |
