Provincial quasi-currency from Argentina's difficult fiscal years of the early-to-mid 1990s. Córdoba, like several other provinces, issued its own notes — locally called "cuasimonedas" — to cover payroll and public obligations when transfers from Buenos Aires ran short. These were not legal tender in the national sense but circulated under provincial authority, accepted by local businesses as a matter of practical necessity rather than legal compulsion.
The PS prefix in the Pick reference places this squarely in the provincial/state issues supplement — a category that reflects just how far Argentina's federal fiscal arrangement had fractured by that decade. Redemption rates and public acceptance varied sharply from province to province.
