Obverse description Central vignette consists of an intaglio portrait of General Antonio Maceo set within an oval frame, rendered in black and olive-green tones against a fine guilloche underprint. The red seal of the Banco Nacional de Cuba appears to the left, with the denomination numeral '20' repeated in the corners. Serial numbers were printed in red for the 1949 and 1958 issues and in black for the 1960 issue.
