Opmerkingen

The Free Negros Military Currency Committee was one of several guerrilla-affiliated bodies that issued emergency scrip across the Philippine islands following the Japanese occupation of 1942. Negros Island maintained unusually organized resistance, and its currency issues were among the more administratively structured of the wartime guerrilla series — backed nominally by local government authority rather than purely by military command.

The Japanese military administration aggressively suppressed guerrilla scrip, making possession dangerous. Notes that survived did so largely by being hidden, which accounts for the folding patterns and concealment damage common to this series.
