Obverse description The national coat of arms of El Salvador occupies the central field, depicting a volcanic landscape beneath an arc of five stars, flanked by vertical stripes and surmounted by a Phrygian cap radiating sunrays and the date '15 de Set. de 1821', all within a wreath of laurel and palm branches tied at the base with a ribbon. The legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR arcs around the upper periphery. In the lower field, the gold fineness '900', the mint mark 'C.A.M.', and the date '1892' are inscribed, with the mint mark centered below the shield.
