Obverse description At left, a seated allegorical female figure in classical robes is rendered in fine intaglio, accompanied by agricultural motifs at her feet; at right, an oval intaglio portrait vignette presents a cleric in full ecclesiastical dress. The bank title "EL BANCO NACIONAL" is set in bold gothic lettering across the face, with the Argentine national arms at upper centre over a guilloche underprint, and the denomination "VEINTE PESOS" in large letterpress type at centre.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in reddish-brown ink and carries two symmetrically disposed oval bust-portrait vignettes, one at left and one at right, each enclosed within intricate lathe-work guilloche frames. A central green guilloche medallion bears the large numeral "20", flanked by the legends "EL BANCO NACIONAL" and "BUENOS AIRES", all contained within an engine-turned geometric border.
