正面描述 Brown intaglio-printed note on cream paper with an ornate engraved border. A central allegorical vignette shows three classical female figures seated together, flanked on the left by an oval guilloche device and the arms of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata, with additional circular guilloche ornaments in the lower corners. Inscriptions in ornate script read the bank name across the upper field, with the denomination VEINTE PESOS and the promise text 'Promete pagar al portador y a la vista en Moneda Metálica' below, followed by 'BUENOS AYRES' and 'Por el Presidente y Directores.'

备注

The Banco Nacional de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata was the second attempt at a national bank in Argentina, established in 1826 under Bernardino Rivadavia's short-lived centralist government. By the time this note was issued, the bank was already operating under severe political pressure — Rivadavia had resigned, the unitarist project had collapsed, and the institution was effectively running on borrowed legitimacy under a federalist Buenos Aires provincial government that had never fully endorsed it. The bank was liquidated in 1836, making late-dated examples from this series particularly scarce.
