Obverse description Bare-headed youthful effigy of King Alfonso XIII facing right, engraved in high relief with fine detail to the hair and military collar. The portrait reflects the king's adolescent appearance, characteristic of his fourth coinage type. The date 1904 appears in the lower exergual area flanked by small six-pointed stars. The circumferential legend reads ALFONSO XIII POR LA G· DE DIOS, separated by the portrait, and is enclosed within an inner dentilated border and an outer beaded border.
