备注	Montenegro was occupied by Austro-Hungarian forces in January 1916 following the collapse of the Serbian front, and the K.u.K. Militärverwaltung moved quickly to establish monetary control over a population that had used the Montenegrin perper since 1906. These military administration notes were not issued by any bank — they were instruments of occupation finance, covering troop pay obligations and local procurement without drawing on Habsburg treasury reserves. The perpera denomination was deliberately retained rather than replacing it with Kronen, a calculated decision to reduce friction with the local population. Whether it succeeded is another matter — Montenegrins largely distrusted the notes, and post-war redemption was chaotic.
