Obverse description The Finnish State coat of arms is depicted centrally in the field: a crowned lion rampant to the right, holding a straight sword aloft in its right forepaw and trampling a curved sword beneath its hind paws, surrounded by nine roses. The circular legend SUOMEN TASAVALTA (Republic of Finland) runs along the upper periphery, separated by decorative rosette stops. The date appears in the lower field, flanked by two rosette ornaments, with the mint official's initial positioned below the sword handle.
