The animal is set against an incuse background of stylised tropical foliage rendered in frosted relief. The surrounding legend, inscribed along the upper rim in three languages, reads ST. LAWRENCE'S CHURCH to the left, the Chinese 聖老楞佐堂 at centre, and IGREJA DE S. LOURENÇO to the right.
