| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in four or five lines, containing the titles and epithets of Sultan Selim III, including references to his sovereignty and the mint authority of the Tripolitan Regency. The inscription is enclosed within a circular inner border of dots or pellets, surrounded by a further Arabic marginal legend running around the circumference, all contained within a beaded outer rim. The flan is irregular and the strike bold though slightly off-center, typical of hammered provincial Ottoman coinage of this period. |
