| Obverse description | Central field bears the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mahmud II rendered in Ottoman calligraphic style, with a floral ornament positioned to the right. The entire central device is enclosed within a decorative elliptical cartouche formed by interlaced foliate scrollwork. The border is further ornamented with small rosette or pellet motifs at the intersections of the elliptic frame, creating a characteristic Ottoman decorative surround. |
