The field bears the Arabic tughra legend of Sultan Abdülmecid I in characteristic Ottoman calligraphic style, with the mint name Qustantiniyah and regnal date inscribed in the field. The surface shows heavy patination and encrustation consistent with a well-circulated copper flan. A partial countermark impression is visible at the lower portion of the field, partially overlapping the original legends. |
