Obverse description Ottoman tughra of Sultan Abdülaziz displayed prominently in the central field, rendered in elaborate calligraphic style. Surrounding Arabic legends fill the field, with floral and foliate decorative elements characteristic of mid-19th century Ottoman coinage. The design follows the standard format of the Turkish KM-687 host coin, struck at Constantinople in AH1277 year 1.
