Obverse description The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia state emblem occupies the central field, depicting a torch with a flame surrounded by six torches bound together, symbolizing the six constituent republics, flanked by sheaves of wheat tied with a ribbon bearing the founding date 29·XI·1943. A five-pointed star surmounts the emblem. The bilingual legend arcs around the periphery, reading in Cyrillic in the upper left and in Latin script in the lower right, separated by small dot stops, all within a beaded inner border.

Reverse description The large numeral '20' is prominently displayed in the centre of the field. Surrounding it in a circular legend, the denomination in the four official languages of Yugoslavia — Cyrillic Serbian (ПАРА), Latin Serbian/Croatian (PARA), Slovenian (PAR), and Macedonian Cyrillic (ПАРИ) — is arranged around the inner beaded border, each word separated by a raised dot. The mint year appears in the lower portion of the field beneath the numeral.
