Obverse description Central field dominated by a large trident (trishula), a symbol of Shiva and the royal house of Nepal, standing upright with its three prongs prominent. A circular Devanagari legend surrounds the trident, bearing the royal name and titles of King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah. The Nepali Samvat date appears in Devanagari numerals at the base of the design. The entire design is enclosed within a fine dotted border.

Obverse lettering श्री तिन श्री श्री श्री भवन वीर विक्रम शाह देव
Reverse description Central medallion enclosing a crossed khukuri and lance or sword motif flanked by floral sprays, with the denomination inscription in Devanagari reading 'Bis Paisa' (twenty paisa) and 'Nepal' below. The central device is surrounded by an ornate lotus-petal border composed of alternating petals, with Devanagari legends distributed within the petals around the periphery. A fine reeded or dotted outer rim frames the entire design, lending a formal, regal character to the composition.
