Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Anastasius I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial tradition. The emperor wears a pearl diadem, with the bust exhibiting simplified facial features characteristic of early Byzantine coinage. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads D N ANASTASIVS P P AVG, enclosed within a border of dots. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-struck small-module copper coinage of the period.
