Aanvullende informatie

Yugoslavia issued this coin during a period of acute economic disintegration — by 1996, the country itself had already fragmented, and Serbia and Montenegro were operating as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia under UN sanctions. The dinar had undergone catastrophic hyperinflation in 1993 and 1994, the second worst recorded in history, prompting a complete redenomination in January 1994 that introduced the "novi dinar" at a rate of 1 to 12 million old dinars. This piece belongs to that post-reform coinage, struck when monetary credibility was still being rebuilt from near zero.
