Beschrijving voorzijde	Bare-headed right-facing portrait bust of President Kenneth Kaunda occupying the central field, rendered in bold relief with naturalistic detail. A small decorative rosette mark appears on the cheek of the effigy. The legend ZAMBIA arcs across the upper periphery in widely spaced capital letters. The date of issue appears in large numerals along the lower periphery, below the truncation of the bust.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A puku antelope, depicted in full profile standing and facing right, occupies the upper left portion of the field in fine naturalistic relief. To the right of the animal, the bold numeral 20 denotes the denomination. Below, in two lines across the lower field, the inscription TWENTY NGWEE spells out the denomination in full capital letters. The composition is clean and uncluttered, with no additional border ornaments.
