| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse features an architectural rendering of the Shrine of the Book, the distinctive wing-shaped white dome of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, shown with its characteristic curved profile and the low basalt black wall at its base enclosing a reflecting pool of water. In the upper central field, an extract from the Great Isaiah Scroll — one of the original seven Dead Sea Scrolls discovered at Qumran — is reproduced in Hebrew text. The upper border carries the inscription 'JERUSALEM' in Latin, Hebrew (ירושלים), and Arabic (أورشليم). To the right, the face value, mint year in both Gregorian (2013) and Hebrew calendar (התשע״ג) notations, the Star of David mint mark, and the fineness designation '1 OZ. FINE GOLD .9999' are inscribed. |

Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, this coin commemorates the Shrine of the Book wing, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls — discovered between 1947 and 1956 in the caves at Qumran. The scrolls include the oldest known manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible, some dating to the 3rd century BCE. The Shrine itself was designed by American architects Frederic Kiesler and Armand Bartos, opened in 1965, and was famously painted black during the 1973 Yom Kippur War to reduce its visibility as an aerial target.
