Obverse description At center, a stylized roaring lion rendered in high relief, depicted in profile facing left with an elaborately maned head and articulated musculature, derived from an ancient Near Eastern artistic tradition. The State Emblem of Israel — a menorah flanked by two olive branches above the inscription ישראל — appears in a shield form at the upper field. Along the lower arc, the country name is inscribed in three scripts: Latin (ISRAEL), Hebrew (ישראל), and Arabic (إسرائيل). The composition is set against a smooth, polished field with no exergual line.
