| 备注 |
The 2005 20 New Lira belongs to the first series issued after Turkey's redenomination, which lopped six zeros off the old Turkish Lira on 1 January 2005 — a corrective measure made necessary by one of the longest-running inflation episodes in modern monetary history. At its worst, the old lira had reached 1,650,000 to the US dollar. The "New" designation was always intended as temporary; it was dropped when the current lira series replaced this one in 2009.
