| 正面描述 | The Mozambican national coat of arms is prominently centered in the field, depicting a shield bearing crossed AK-47 rifle and hoe over an open book, all set against a rising sun above ocean waves. The shield is flanked by a wreath consisting of a sugarcane stalk to the left and a maize cob to the right, bound at the base by a ribbon scroll inscribed REPÚBLICA DE MOÇAMBIQUE. A five-pointed star surmounts the crest. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE MOÇAMBIQUE arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1994 appearing in the lower exergue. |

Mozambique's 1994 coinage came just two years after the Rome General Peace Accords ended a sixteen-year civil war between Frelimo and Renamo that had devastated the country's economy and infrastructure. Brass clad steel was a practical choice for a nation rebuilding its monetary system with limited resources — the same cost-driven logic that pushed many post-conflict African states away from solid alloy coins in this period.
