Reverse description The Imperial German eagle displayed with wings spread, facing left, surmounted by a crown above the head; the breast bears a shield with the Imperial arms. Elaborate foliate and scroll mantling decorates the lower field beneath the eagle's tail. The denomination '20 MARK' is inscribed at the bottom, flanked by small five-pointed stars, while 'DEUTSCHES REICH' and the date '1896' are arranged in two arcs along the upper periphery. The entire design is bordered by a continuous beaded rim.
