| Obverse lettering | KRIEGSGELD ZWANZIG MARK 20 Der Magistrat der Stadt Landsberg a. d. Warthe |
| Reverse description | The reverse is executed in blue and olive-brown on cream paper, with symmetrical Art Nouveau-style foliate pilaster vignettes flanking the central text panel on both left and right margins. At the top centre, the denomination '20 Mark 20' is set in blackletter flanked by a small floral ornament, above a multi-line redemption notice in Gothic script. The issuing authority is restated in large blackletter below the notice, followed by two facsimile signatures, and the entire composition is enclosed within a border carrying a repeating '20 Zwanzig Mark' legend in the top and bottom margins. |

Landsberg an der Warthe — now Gorzów Wielkopolski in western Poland — was a mid-sized Prussian city that issued notgeld like hundreds of German municipalities during the hyperinflationary spiral of the early 1920s. The Magistrat's recourse to Carl Flemming was practical: the Glogau-based printer had deep roots in commercial and cartographic printing and was geographically close, making it a natural choice for regional authorities needing fast, credible currency substitutes.
Carl Flemming maintained a Berlin operation alongside its Glogau press, and some sheets in this series were split between both facilities — worth checking if the imprint specifies one or both locations on your example.
