| Obverse description | Brown letterpress note on cream paper with a fine guilloche underprint. The left half carries the circular municipal seal of Stadtgemeinde Emmendingen, bearing the city arms with two heraldic supporters and the founding date 1590 at the base. To the right, the denomination is rendered in large Gothic script reading 'Zwanzig Mark', above the place and date of issue 'Emmendingen, den 30. Okt. 1918', and the issuing authority line 'Der Gemeinderat' followed by two manuscript signatures. The denomination numeral '20' appears in white on dark roundels at the lower left and right corners, and a rectangular panel at the foot carries the redemption notice text. |
