| Opis awersu | An olive-green guilloche underprint forms the ground of the obverse, over which the Ahlen civic arms appear as a central vignette in a watermark-style treatment, with the denomination "Zwanzig Mark" superimposed in bold dark-brown Fraktur letterpress. The issuing authority legend runs along the top in brown type, a red serial number is positioned at upper right, and the circular town seal of Stadt Ahlen (Westf.) is impressed at lower left alongside a handwritten Magistrat signature. Two lines of small Fraktur text below detail the redemption conditions and the validity expiry clause dated 1 February 1919, the whole enclosed within a decorative brown foliate border. |
