| Obverse description | The face is printed in dark blue-black on a light ground, with an elaborate guilloche border of repeating oval rosette units enclosing vertical column ornaments at left and right. The issuer's name in Gothic script appears at the top, followed by the voucher designation and serial number in red, below which the denomination "Zwanzig Mark" is rendered in large decorative Fraktur lettering over a pale blue guilloché underprint vignette. The lower portion carries the date "Heidelberg, den 16. Oktober 1918", the redeemability notice "einlösbar ab 1. Februar 1919", the municipal authority designation "Stadtverwaltung", and four manuscript signatures beneath the role titles Oberbürgermeister, 1. Bürgermeister, Rechnungsamt, and Stadtkassenamt, with a violet official cancellation stamp at lower right. |
