| Obverse description | Green guilloche underprint with large watermark-style numeral '20' repeated across the field forms the background of this Kriegsnotschein. The denomination 'Zwanzig Mark' is set in ornate blackletter script at the upper centre, beneath which the issuing text identifies the Residenzstadt Eisenach as the guarantor and delimits the note's circulation to the III. Verwaltungsbezirk des Großherzogtums Sachsen; the arms of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach appear in the lower left corner, the date 'Eisenach, den 24. Oktober 1918' is printed at the lower centre flanked by two manuscript signatures above the printed titles of the issuing officials, and a red serial number is printed at the right. |

Oktober 1918. Der Großh. Bezirksdirektor. Der Vorstand der Residenzstadt. Der Stadtkämmerer. Die Notscheine werden spätestens zum 1. Februar 1919 zur Einziehung und Einlösung aufgerufen. |
| Reverse description | The reverse presents a two-colour brown and green design centred on a stylised heraldic eagle with spread wings, its breast charged with a shield bearing a cross — the arms of Eisenach — and surmounted by a mural crown, with two crossed swords below. Green underprint vignettes of local landmarks, identified as the Georgenkirche tower and the Wartburg castle, flank the central eagle on left and right respectively. The denomination '20 M.' is repeated in brown numerals at the lower left and lower right within the composition, and the printer's imprint appears at the foot of the note. |
