| Obverse description | The obverse is set against a diamond-patterned guilloche underprint and carries the issuer's title "Stadtgemeinde Bamberg" in bold blackletter script at the top centre. To the upper left stands the Bavarian lion coat of arms, while to the upper right appears a vignette of an armoured knight holding a sword, flanked by a heraldic eagle shield. The denomination "Zwanzig Mark" is rendered in large display blackletter type at centre, below the voucher number line "Gutschein No. [number] über", with three manuscript facsimile signatures of the Oberbürgermeister, Stadtmagistrat, and Kollektiv der Stadtgemeinde-Bevollmächtigten; the redemption clause appears along the lower margin. |
