| Beschrijving voorzijde | At right, an intaglio portrait of the legendary Turkmen epic hero Görogly Beg Türkmen is set against a fine guilloche underprint in purple and green tones, with his name inscribed in small lettering above the portrait. The national coat of arms, rendered in multicolour intaglio within a star-shaped frame, occupies the centre-left field, accompanied by a green holographic foil map of Turkmenistan and a coloured rendering of the country's administrative regions. The large denominational numeral '20' appears at upper left in deep violet, with a colour-shifting '20' at lower right. |

| Opmerkingen |
The second manat, introduced in 2009, replaced the first at a rate of 5,000 to 1 — a redenomination that wiped out five zeros accumulated through the inflation years of the 1990s. Thomas De La Rue's London facilities handled production of this 2012-dated series, as they did across much of the second manat rollout, giving Turkmenistan's currency a level of technical security specification that the country's domestic printing capacity could not have supported independently.
The hologram strip on this denomination is among the more elaborate applied to Central Asian issues of this period.
